Subscriber and MEGOGO account¶
This page tells how MEGOGO identifies your subscriber, and how the subscriber gets a login and a password to sign in to MEGOGO.
Identifier of the subscriber¶
Each request has your identifier of the subscriber: userId, identifier
or isdn. These three names are the same value. Use a value that does not
change, for example the contract number or the account number. If you do
not want to send real data of the subscriber, send a hash of it.
| Rule | Details |
|---|---|
| Length | 1 to 254 characters. A longer value gives code 40000 |
| Characters | Any. Cyrillic characters work. We recommend Latin letters, digits, - and _ |
| Upper and lower case | MEGOGO does not see a difference: ABC-1 and abc-1 are the same subscriber |
| Spaces | A space at the end is ignored. A space at the start makes a different subscriber |
| Scope | The identifier is unique only in your partner ID |
CAUTION
Send the identifier always in the same form. Remove the spaces at the start and at the end before you send it.
MEGOGO makes the subscriber at the first request with a new identifier:
user/create, user/innerId, user/changeCredentials, subscribe or
resume. unsubscribe, suspend and user/subscriptions do not make a
subscriber. You do not have to send user/create first.
Each subscriber has a MEGOGO user ID (uid). user/create and
user/innerId give it. You do not need the uid for the API requests.
Keep it to find the subscriber when you speak to MEGOGO support.
The MEGOGO account¶
To watch MEGOGO, the subscriber signs in to MEGOGO on the web or in the
MEGOGO applications for Android and iOS. For this, the subscriber needs a login and a
password. You make them and send them to MEGOGO with
user/changeCredentials.
| Item | Rule |
|---|---|
| Login | An e-mail address. It must be unique in MEGOGO. Upper and lower case are the same |
| Password | 6 or more characters |
We recommend this login: the contract number (or another identifier) at
your domain, for example 100245@your-isp.example. The address does not
have to receive e-mail. For the password, make a random password, or use
the password of the personal account of the subscriber on your site.
WARNING
MEGOGO does not check the format of the login: a value that is not an e-mail address is also accepted. Check the format before you send the request.
If MEGOGO has another user with this login, user/changeCredentials gives
Other users already have this email. Make a different login, for example
add your prefix.
Change the password or the login¶
Send user/changeCredentials again for the same subscriber:
- with the same login and a new password, to change the password;
- with a new login, to change the login. The old login becomes free.
The subscriber can also change the login (e-mail) and the password in the
MEGOGO profile. After such a change, the password in your personal account
is not correct any more. Before you change the password, get the current
login with user/innerId. See
Manage the MEGOGO account.
